At Africa Media Online we have a passion for helping African media and heritage organisations bridge the digital divide. Often an organisation does not know where to begin or may have some elements in place but not others. Africa Media Online partners with you to assist you to envision a digital future and take the necessary steps to obtain that future. Our partnerships have included individuals, organisations and national governments.

There are three main ways in which our Consulting Services assist organisations:

  • Quotes – This is often the first way we interact with you and does not cost you anything. It gives you and idea of what your project is going to cost
  • Funding Proposals – Many organisations, particularly if they are in the heritage sector do not have the funds from their normal budgets to undertake a digitisation project. If you are a public benefit organisation, funds are available for digitisation projects and we have assisted a number of organisation secure funding.
  • Digitisation Strategy – Many organisations are urgently needing to put a digitisation strategy in place to guide and aid their engagement with the digital world and so enjoy its benefits while avoiding its pitfalls. Africa Media Online is well placed to produce such a strategy, not just on the basis of the broad research we have conducted on best practices around the world, but also on the basis of very real hands on experience in accomplishing what you are wanting to achieve. Knowing why you are engaging with the digital world is the first question in establishing a sound digitisation strategy. The other questions of what, how, who, where and when emerge from that primary question. In our consulting work we cover the entire spectrum from establishing a digitisation or digital strategy, through digital capture and preservation to enabling secure access for your target audience.
